    Why is spiritual warfare ever necessary since Christ defeated the
devil, Satan, and his demonic spirits of the kingdom of darkness?
    The Bible reveals that Christ came to destroy the works of the devil...
    take away his power, and disarm him.
    Is not the Body of Christ delivered from Satan's power?

    Walk with us as we discover the biblical principles and truths about
these questions....
    Satan's destruction wasn't a literal annihilation of the demonic prince
of the air.   It was a breaking of his "legal" rule and authority.

Remember that Adam lost the authority of God when he disobeyed
the command "Do Not Eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good
and Evil."

    Have you ever seen a scripture verse that states, Christ delivered us
from Satan's power? No! The Bible states Christ delivered from the
devils' authority (Greek: exousia). He delivered us from the devil's
"legal right" to use his power (Greek: exousia) on us.

    Do you think that settles the questions above? No.

    Let us look at some scriptures so we have the mind of Christ on the
subject...

Colossians 2:15 AMP
    [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged
against us and made a bold display and public example of them,
    in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].
    The word "disarmed" (Greek: apekduomai) means Christ divested
Himself of the rulers and authorities. He established His rule over
them and took away their "legal rights." He did not kill them.

    Colossians 1:11-13 AMP   (Note: The exercise of intercessory prayer)
    [We pray] that you may be invigorated and strengthened with all
power according to the might of His glory, [to exercise] every kind of
endurance and patience (perseverance and forbearance) with joy,
    {Why are we given this power (Greek: exousia)?
    12 Giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified and made us fit to
share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints (God's holy
people) in the Light.
    {That we might exercise our inheritance in the Light of Christ!}!!
    13[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the
control and the dominion (Greek: exousia) of darkness and has
transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

     Luke 10:19-20 AMP
     Behold! I have given you authority (Greek: exousia) and power
   (Greek:exousia) to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and
   [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power
     (Greek: exousia) that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in
   any way harm you.
     20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject
     to you, but rejoice that your names are enrolled in heaven.

     Power was never the issue between God and Satan.
     Remember that God "kicked Lucifer" out of heaven with a third
     of the rebellious angels who teamed with the "pride" and plan
     of the most beautiful cheribum in heaven.
     It is the rebellious spirit of man called the "pride of life," "lust of
     the flesh" and "lust of the eye"that keeps one from repenting and
   receiving the Lord Jesus Christ and His Kingdom of Light...
     the culture of righteousness.
   Rebellious spirits deny the power of the Gospel.

     Authority (Greek: exousia) was the issue with Lucifer and with the
     "Serpent" in the Garden of Paradise. Satan is still power hungry.
     The authority Satan had obtained through deception, omission,
     and lying ... was a "legal authority."
     It had been given to Adam and Eve.
     God gave them a "legally binding word"...
     dominion over the creation.

     The Lord Jesus did not come to get back any authority, nor did he
   remove Satan's power. He came as a man to regain the authority
   Adam lost to the "Serpent" and crush his headship over the earth!
   Now we are beginning to "see" through spiritual eyes the revelation
   of Gen 3:15 AMP
     15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between
your offspring and her Offspring; He will bruise and tread your
head underfoot, and you will lie in wait and bruise His heel.

     The woman is the Church and her Offspring are the children of the
   New Birth, the spiritual New Creation. Satan's offspring are those
   who live inthe kingdom of darkness in the "sin" and lawless realm.
     Christ came to take the authority of headship back from Satan
   "bruising," destroying his work. Christ came that we may be lights
   to the world of darkness walking in His Name in which there is all
   authortiy and power!

     Satan lies in wait of the offspring of the Gospel.
Mark 4:15 AMP
     15 The ones along the path are those who have the Word sown
     [in their hearts], but when they hear, Satan comes at once and
     [by force] takes away the message which is sown in them.
     (1 Peter 5:8)
     Satan prowls like a "roaring lion" instilling fear, and destruction
   wherever he can.
     (Ephesians 6:16)
     He still has "firey darts" .

     If you do not believe these truths, try going without your spiritual
   armor.
    Ephesians 6:10-20 NKJV
    Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His
    might.
    11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand
against the Wiles of the devil.
    12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against
    principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
    of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly
places.
    13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able
to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
    14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put
   on the breastplate of righteousness,
    15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of
   peace;
    16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to
quench all the fiery Darts of the wicked one.17 And take the helmet
of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
    18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,
    being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication
    for all the saints --
    19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open
my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,

    Intercessory prayer is the spiritual weapon God has given to the
"WOMAN," the Bride of Christ to break Satan's activities in the
affairs of the New Creation. Jesus gave us His authority...
in His Name and in His Blood to bruise the headship and rule of
demonic activity in our lives and the lives of others oppressed by
    the enemy.

Mark 16:17-18 NKJV
     And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they
     will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
     18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly,
     it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick,
     and they will recover."

     What Satan and his demonic horde lost was the right (authority)
     to use his powers (Greek: exousia) on those who make Jesus
   Christ, Lord and walk in the Law of the Spirit.
     Keep in mind that Satan is a thief and a lawbreaker.
     He will use his power or abilities on us in anyway he can.
     We must understand and exercise
     intercessory prayer to thwart his influence by the authority that
   Christ has given us.   We do not defeat Satan. Jesus Christ
   defeated him as we have examined in our study.
   We only have authority and power through our Lord's work and
     His Name.
      Always remember that AUTHORITY is the issue!
      Power does the work. Authority controls the power!

      Daniel 7:13-14 KJV
    I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man
came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days,
and they brought him near before him.
     14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom,
      that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his
dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away,
and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

      Through intercessory prayer the unseen battles in the heavenlies
decides the outcome and the victories we experience. The Lord
Jesus has given us the scepter or rod of kingship, His headship
      as head of the WOMAN...His Bride. His authority is not the power
we exercise on the physical realm of the mountain battlefield.
      It is the authority is exercised on the Mountain of God
      (Spiritual Mt.Zion) that decides the victory!
      Authority has always been the issue; power never has been!
      Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord!

      Matthew 28:18-20 AMP
      Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them,
      All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been
given to Me.
     19 Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them
into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
      20 Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded
you, and behold, I am with you all the days ( perpetually, uniformly,
    and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of
the age.Amen
       (so let it be).
